Amor Vida : Love Life Day 100

What a day to write my 100th daily blog (almost) today and I had thought about writing something very personal but instead I chanced upon this amazing TED talk of Simon Sinek and I had to share it with everyone.

Now some of you might know that one of my favorite things to do while I travel by metro is listen to TED Talks and yes I agree that I imagine myself delivering one some day…God only knows why would someone ask me to speak on that big of a platform BUT I am allowed to be highly unlikely propitious dreamer for myself. Moving on, this particular talk was about “How great leaders inspire action“.

If you think of yourself as a Leader then continue reading or if you think that you are ought to be heard than also continue reading……

Now that you are reading, I am assuming that like me you want your name on that sign board, you want to make your parents happy, you want your partner and kids to feel extremely proud of you. Let me tell you something, I do not have any formula for success but having listened to his talk made me see things slightly differently. Of course over the course of next few days I am going to analyze just about everything from this new lens of mine but I want to share with you what I learned today.

Mr Sinek says rightly that “There are few leaders who choose to inspire rather than manipulate in order to motivate people”and that there is a basic difference between the big guns of inspiring leaders and all others. This lies in this- Golden Circle.

The basic difference lies in the thinking pattern. The inspiring leaders like Steve Jobs, Mr King, Barak Obama etc think from inward to outward.  For example if I start a business then I might say what am I working on then how I am going to do it but Why am I doing it misses the beat. However, all the great leaders think in exactly the opposite way.

WHY are we doing what we are doing?

HOW are we going to do that?

WHAT are we doing?

Isnt it something to think about? I surely do feel that its worth exploring fact. Also this is not only what he speaks about but there were many more insights in his talk and I encourage everyone to listen to that while I am going to perform a little exercise to unravel my life by asking myself the questions on every aspect of my life.  Why? How? What?
